How does the SPI SURF SHUTTLE work?
When you book a shared shuttle ride with us, you will be grouped with other travelers headed in the same direction, within the same timeframe. Depending on the time of day, seasonality, and number of travelers, your shuttle may make a few stops along the way to pick up, or drop off, fellow passengers. We are a door-to-door service to and from South Padre Island.
When should I book my shuttle?
How many people can your shuttle accommodate?
We operate two vans: a 2020 Sprinter and a 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz. Our combined maximum is 20 passengers per trip. Vehicle assignment is subject to availability. If you need a specific vehicle, confirm it when booking a private ride.
Do you accept last minute rides?
We recommend always booking in advance to ensure availability but if you find yourself needing a last-minute ride, please give us a call and we’ll do our best to accommodate IF POSSIBLE.
Can I make a reservation for a single passenger?
Yes, you can book for single passengers on our website.
What days / hours do you operate the shuttle?
Online reservations are available 24/7/365. Phone support hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time. A $20 per-ride surcharge applies before 6:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m.
What are the rates?
Shared shuttle service between Harlingen Valley International Airport (HRL) and South Padre Island is $75 for the first passenger plus $25 for each additional passenger. Shared shuttle service between Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO) and South Padre Island is $70 for the first passenger plus $15 for each additional passenger. Private airport transportation from either airport is $150 for the first passenger plus $25 for each additional passenger. Private van service on South Padre Island is $150 per hour and is not an airport-transfer price. A $20 per-ride surcharge applies before 6:00 a.m. and after 10:00 p.m.
Can I book a private shuttle?
Yes. Private airport transportation between South Padre Island and HRL or BRO is $150 for the first passenger plus $25 for each additional passenger. Private van service on South Padre Island is $150 per hour and is not an airport-transfer price. Vehicle assignment is subject to availability; confirm a specific vehicle when booking if required.
What happens if my flight is delayed or canceled?
Contact us as soon as possible by text, phone, or email if your flight is delayed or canceled. For late-night airport pickups (after 10:00 p.m.), if your flight delay exceeds one hour, we reserve the right to arrange and cover an alternative local taxi so you can reach your destination promptly.
Are there any discounts available?
Unfortunately, no due to skyrocketing gas prices.
Where do we find you once we get our bags?
At Harlingen Valley International Airport (HRL), collect your bags, walk toward the taxi stand, and wait under the blue awning. At Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport (BRO), collect your bags, walk outside to the curb, and your driver will meet you curbside.

Can we make a stop at the grocery store on the way to the Island?
Occasionally, we can stop for 10 minutes between rides but this depends on our premade schedule. It’s best to include a note (under the special requirements box) when placing the order or send us a text 48 hours before arrival so that we can arrange for it or let you know if you will need to get delivery service.
Can you store our luggage after we check out?
Possibly, depending on the schedule so must ask at least 24 hours before departure.
Can we stop to pick up condo keys?
Can you pick up at a different location than drop off?
Cancellation Policy:
48 Hours notice – 99% refund, If your flight is canceled or the dates change, just let us know and we can accommodate.
24 Hours notice – Credit issued to the customer
NO CALL / NO SHOW – 100% Loss of total fare paid for shuttle.
